The lingering summer heat is expected to last until early October.
The summer days will last that long, I nodded to myself, foolishly thinking that the earth's axis had shifted at some point in time.
From there, I dreamt of the girls' uniforms of the Third New Tokyo Municipal Daiichi Junior High School.
I have several different sizes, but I have given up trying to find them from the start. I know that no matter which one I dress them in, they are different somewhere. With cosplay costumes, I can't get to the scenery of that world, and what I see in front of me is just a life-size doll. It's also been a little too long for my fantasies to have any kind of reality.
Nevertheless, when I dress the doll in similar shades of clothes, I see in her someone who appeals to no one but only to me.
I gave the doll a new ballet leotard.
It's a beautiful white costume, but I'm starting to think it might have been a little too small for this doll.
It's stretchy material, so I might think it fits her perfectly when I put it on.
I'll wait a little longer until I try it on with the tutu, which should arrive next week.
Will summer really be over by then?
残暑は１０月初め頃まで続くとのこと。
夏日が、そんなに続くのは、いつの間にか地軸がずれていたようだとバカなことを考え一人頷く。
そこから第三新東京市立第壱中学校の女子制服を夢想した。
サイズ違いを何種類か持っているのだが、探してみるのを最初から諦めている。どれを着せてやっても何処か違うのを知っているから。コスプレ衣装では、あの世界の風景には辿り着けないし、目の前にいるのも等身大の人形でしかない。妄想に何らかのリアリティを備えさせるには、少しばかり時間が経ちすぎてもいる。
それでも、似たような色合いの衣装を着せると、誰にもアピールしないけれど、私だけの誰かが見えてくる。
人形に新しいバレエのレオタードを持たせてみた。
美しい白の衣装だが、この人形には少しばかり小さかったのではないかという思いも。
ストレッチ素材だから、着せてみたらピッタリだったと思うのかもしれないのだが。
来週には届くはずのチュチュと合わせてみるまで、もうしばらく待つことにしよう。
そのころには本当に夏は終わっているのだろうか。
