When I saw the publicity photo of this doll, I thought she looked like a heroine drawn by a cartoonist.
I thought that if a two-dimensional being were to be made into a three-dimensional figure, it would have a face with this kind of atmosphere. I don't know the name of the heroine.
It reminded me of the beauty of the painted manuscripts I saw at the Kyoto International Manga Museum.
Looking at the head I ordered and received, as usual, I began to make the routine assumption that it looked like a real person.
At first, inspired by the publicity image, I dressed her in a Chinese dress. The dress in the publicity picture was red, but this one is purple. I tilted my head and wondered if it was purple, but when I compared it to the dress marked red, it was definitely not red. On its own, however, I would probably think it was red.
The head in the publicity image had short black hair, with a rounded section on each side, perhaps Vance Clips, and a Chinese-style hair ornament down. However, even if I had chosen a black wig, I would not have the skills to tie her hair, so I opted for a short pink wig.
As soon as I put the Chinese dress on the doll and put the pink wig on, I felt that what I saw in front of me was a blue and white heroine. Even though she is pink and purple. I guess I'm such an idiot that every girl with a stand-up collar and a short haircut looks like that.
Has that always been the case since I started collecting dolls? ......
I wanted to dress her in a red leotard-like outfit that would show off the lines of her body.
I am worried about the colour transfer, though.
この人形の宣材写真を見て、ある漫画家の描くヒロインのようだと思った。
２次元の存在を立体化すれば、こんな雰囲気の顔立ちになるのではないかと思った。そのヒロインの名前は知らないのだが。
京都国際漫画ミュージアムで目にした肉筆原稿の美しさを思い出す。
注文して届いたヘッドを眺めると、例によって、実在の誰かに似ているという、お決まりの思い込みが始まる。
とりあえず、宣材画像に触発されて、チャイナドレスを着せてみた。宣材画像のドレスは赤だったが、これは紫。これが紫なのかと首を傾げるのだが、レッドと表記されたドレスと見比べると、確かに赤ではない。それでも、単独で眺めれば、私は多分赤だと見做してしまうだろう。
宣材画像のヘッドはショートの黒髪で、両側にバンスなのか丸く結われた部分があり、中国風の髪飾りが下がっていた。しかし、黒いウィッグを選択しても私には髪を結う技量はないので、ピンクのショートウィッグにした。
チャイナドレスを着せて、ピンクのウィッグを装着した途端、目の前にいるのは青と白のヒロインだと感じた。ピンクと紫なのに。立ち襟で、ショートカットの女の子なら、誰でも皆、そう見えてしまうくらい私は阿保なのだろう。
人形を蒐め始めた頃から、ずっとそれは変わらないか。……
体の線がくっきりと出る赤いレオタードのような衣装を着せてみたくなった。
色移りの心配が付き纏う色ではあるのだが。
